When Did You Last Feel Like You? The Quiet Cost of Always Putting Yourself Last

When someone asks how you are, perhaps you answer automatically:

“I'm fine.”

You keep going.

You manage your responsibilities, meet expectations and make sure everyone else is okay, but underneath all of that, you may quietly be wondering:

“When did I stop feeling like me?”  Somewhere along the way, you became the priority after everyone else

Your career may have demanded more from you.

Your business may have grown.

Family responsibilities may have changed.

Or perhaps you've simply become accustomed to putting everyone else's needs before your own.

Your interests, friendships, enjoyment and time for yourself gradually move further down the list.

Not because they don't matter, but because there always seems to be something more important.

Until one day, you realise you can't remember the last time you did something simply because you wanted to.

You can be successful and still feel disconnected

You can be successful and still feel overwhelmed.

You can be grateful for your life and still know that something isn't quite right.

You can love your career, your business and your family while recognising that you've lost touch with yourself somewhere along the way.

That doesn't mean you're ungrateful.

It may simply mean your wellbeing needs more space in your life.

Who are you now?

Reconnecting with yourself doesn't require a complete reinvention.

It starts with becoming curious about who you are now.

What brings you joy?

What gives you a sense of purpose?

What have you been missing?

What matters to you outside of your responsibilities?

And perhaps most importantly:

What would you like more of in your life?

You don't need all the answers immediately.

Sometimes you simply need space to hear yourself again.

Your wellbeing belongs in your life

I believe wellbeing isn't about creating another list of things you should be doing.
